SciVida Future Leader Accepts Consulting Magazine Award in New York
NEW YORK, Nov. 15, 2024 – Joined by a team of SciVida leaders to share in the celebration, SciVida Senior Consultant Victoria Bahena traveled to New York to accept her Woman Leader in Consulting award at the ALM Consulting Magazine dinner and awards ceremony held at Lotte New York Palace last evening.
Flying in from both coasts to support Victoria in accepting her award were SciVida leaders and mentors Kevin Barnett and Jeff Liepman, Co-founders and Managing Partners, Kiely Flanigan, Chief People Officer, Rachel Clare, Partner, and Ben Maimon, Principal.
In her acceptance remarks, Victoria noted, “As a Mexican, this award feels like a celebration of diversity, inclusion, and support within the consulting industry. I am proud to be part of a community that values the power of diverse voices and experiences.”
Winning in the Future Leader category, Victoria offers sage advice to female consultants just beginning their career: “Understand what you bring to the table. What makes you, you? Identify your unique skills and strengths and leverage them in your projects. Your unique strengths will add significant value to the impact of your project work.”
Consulting Magazine’s Future Leader category honors those women whose leadership is exhibited above the call of specified rank or normal expectations of one’s position and displays the promise of increased responsibility and results to benefit the organization and future peers.
Victoria added, “This recognition—Future Woman Leader—instills in me an enormous sense of responsibility to continue advocating for and mentoring young female professionals, encouraging them to work hard, believe in their talents, and break barriers.”
Victoria attributes her success in consulting in part to advice she received from her parents as a young child to try new things and step out of her comfort zone, inspiring her to pursue ambitious goals, embrace failure as a learning opportunity, and remain determined to seize opportunities. “In consulting as in life, taking calculated risks and learning from setbacks are essential for innovation, growth, and success,” she said.
